Haliburton Farm is delighted to be one of the stops on this year’s Habitat Acquisition Trust (HAT)’s Native Plant Garden Tour. It’s free and open to the public and will take place Sunday May 1st from 10 am to 3pm. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about enhancing biodiversity and naturescaping in backyards – finding harmony between food gardens and native plant gardens.

The day will include a tour of the Urban Biodiversity Enhancement and Restoration Project (UBER) site – our restored wetland – as well as a Native Plant Tea Tasting booth and education table including information about the farm. Our own Kristen Miskelly, of Saanich Native Plants, will be selling native plants and answering questions. And we’ll have our farmstand open for the day, with produce, preserves, herbs and baking on sale, and an opportunity to subscribe to our Spring and Summer food box program.
